Afrofuturism comes to the Twin Cities Book Festival on Oct 12


Calling all SF and Afrofuturist lovers in Minneapolis/St Paul: Ytasha L. Womack will discuss her latest book Afrofuturism: The World of Black Sci Fi and Fantasy Culture at the Twin Cities Book Festival, Sat. Oct. 12, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, 1265 North Snelling Avenue, in St. Paul. Ytasha will share insights on this exciting sci-fi aesthetic including thoughts on early Afrofuturist founders and today’s ideas and key players.

The Twin Cities Book Festival, sponsored by Rain Taxi, draws some 7,000 book lovers and celebrates literary culture in the region. Ytasha’s talk on Afrofuturism begins at 3:30 pm and there’s a book signing afterwards. Stop by if you can.
